All seven proposed sites for a new Southwestern Montana veterans retirement home are still in the running, after a six member committee spent hours pouring over the options. The 2009 Legislature approved the 60 bed veterans home, construction to be paid for with $10 million in state money, and the rest from federal funds, expected to bring up to 100 new jobs, and have an annual economic impact of $3.5 million.
