You could call it- the luck of the Irish…just a day before an expected snowstorm…it was sunny skies above Butte, Montana this St. Patrick’s Day. Pat Carney with the Hibernian Society led the parade on foot…

The St. Patricks Day celebration in Butte goes all the way back to 1882…now drawing in nearly 30-thousand revelers on an annual basis. And that in itself- according to Sheriff John Walsh is enough to keep local law enforcement on their toes…

All the expected partying aside…St. Patrick’s Day in the Mining City…is a chance to honor the working class roots of Butte’s Irish heritage. Honored as the Grand Marshals for the parade…Jim and Joanne Cortese of the Butte Food Bank.
