Flathead Female Wrestling Sensation Makes The Boys Cry!
Nineteen years ago Montana wrestling history was made when Sheena Kubas of Missoula Big Sky became the first girl to qualify and win a match at the state wrestling tournament. Than in 2014 Laurel’s Abe Gontarek was the first girl to earn a medal at state. Well this weekend at the 30th all class state wrestling tournament history could be set once again…as Flathead sophomore Tilynne Vasquez could become the first girl to win a Montana state wrestling title! Last year she was the first “AA” girl to place at state!
Check this out last weekend she won the 103 pound weight class at the western “AA” divisional. Miss Vasquez is not just your average wrestler, no this is a young lady who in July in Argentina won the 108 pound weight class at the Pan American Games. You have to listen to my interview with Miss Tilynne. She says that when she first started beating the boys they would cry!
