How About 71 Passing Attempts In A single Game!
Fifteen years ago on the night of September 26, 2003 the Billings Senior Broncs were on the road in Great Falls up against the Rustlers of CMR. At quarterback that night for Senior getting just his second varsity start was sophomore Mark Desin. That evening 15 years ago Mark Desin set two state records! He had the most passing attempts in a single game with 71 as well as the most completions at 42! Mark’s numbers that night 42-71-4 for 380 yards…all in a loss as CMR won 31-28! Now the 71 passing attempts in a single game is still a state record. In 2010 Cy Williams of White Sulphur Springs broke Desin’s compilation mark when he went 48 of 64.
Now check this out…back in 2008 the Rams of Billings Central went 11-1. That season through 12 games the Rams only attempted 56 passes total! That would be 15 less than what Mark Desin put up in a single game.
