Rocky Notes On 72nd East – West Shrine Football Game!
Interesting, a player from North Dakota was the hero of the Montana Shrine football game! The first from N.D. to ever play in the game Jeremiah Paine of Grenora who plays for the 6 Man class “C” state champs the Mon Dak Thunder hit a 30 yard field goal late in the 4th quarter for a 24-21 win for the East. Paine who holds state records for the most passing touch downs in a season and a career also had an interception in the game. It was the second win in a row for the East, they also lead in the overall series 40-32.
Garrison Rothwell of CMR was the Q.B. for the winning East team. Rothwell who threw for 281 yards and two touch downs was also named the game’s M.V.P. By the way Garrison is just the 10th athlete to play in all three major all star games….the Montana – Wyoming All Star Basketball series, the Montana – North Dakota football game and the East – West Shrine game.
