Minnesota Farmers Step Up With “Haylift Fund Raiser” During GATE Show In Dawson County

We truly appreciate what our Minnesota farmers are doing to help our farmers and ranchers in need and now we want to make sure the hay gets distributed fairly to our members,” noted Dawson/Wibaux County Farm Bureau President Gene Evans. “Since Dawson/Wibaux is a joint county Farm Bureau, we are going to share that hay with ranchers in Dawson and Wibaux counties. Any voting member of Dawson/Wibaux County Farm Bureau is welcomed to get their name in the hat for the drawing. In order to enter the drawing, members can stop by the Dawson-Wibaux County Farm Bureau booth at the Glendive Agricultural Trade Exhibition (GATE) in Glendive February 9-10 to put their name in the hat or call me and I will add your name. Not a voting Farm Bureau member yet? Stop by our booth and join.”

Those not able to attend the GATE can call Evans at 406-941-0508, and he will add that name to the drawing. Winners will be drawn February 10 at the GATE, and the hay must be picked up February 13-15. Those who are selected must secure their own trucking to pick up the hay, but that will be the only cost incurred. At this time, the type and amount of hay, and number of loads, is still to be determined.

“We know that Mother Nature is in charge, and there are a lot of elements outside of our control in farming and ranching,” said Roth. “It was an easy decision for our county Farm Bureaus to come together to help them out. We don’t think of it as being anything special. We just do it because we know it is the right thing to do.”
