Lawmakers trim half of the Governors funding for Public Works Projects
Republican Lawmakers have introduced a bill that trims funding for Public Works Projects to $80 Million, half of what Governor Steve Bullock proposed. Tim Pierce with the University of Montana’s Legislative News Service reports that Missoula Representative Mike Hopkins is sponsoring House Bill 652. He says that Bullock suggested $160 million in borrowed funds to make it feasible. More from Representative Hopkins.
Bullock didn’t say if he would support the Bill. But, says he is glad the Legislature is working to fund projects with borrowed money which has caused infrastructure bills to fail in Past Sessions. Here is Steve Bullock.
